What do you guys like for catching hybrids? Lures live bait?? Going after some tomorrow at Lewisville, I was maybe gonna throw some crankbaits and t-rigged worms. What do you guys like?? or do most of you just use live bait? Is it at all like LMB fishing or just more like stripers??

I like slabs. You can try deadsticking a fluke on a 3/4 oz jig head or slowrolling a sassy shad. Later in the year you can find them on top surfacing or hanging below schooling sandies.

A lot of us use the 4" sassy shad from www.moestackleshop.com We have found it to be a pretty good lure for hybrids/stripers and decent sized sand bass. This time of the year a 5" dead assassin in the pepper color from Moes works great, some folks dip it in a chartreuse dye with a garlic scent. This lure has been deadly on Tawakoni and Cedar Creek so it has to work everywhere. It isn't like LMB fishing, if you catch one you have a fight on your hands..
It ain't easy making it look easy.

The sassy shads above or equilivent in the 4" and 5" size but in the "glow" color are my best producers. Pearl color can be very good as well - " match the hatch" as you look at the picture above of the shad. Have a variety of colors for many water color situations. Fish windy points and banks with bait blown in on them for starters.

I drag a telephone wire tied to a battery out the back of my boat. My graph quit working and I found out this works even better. I don't lose any lures this way and the fish don't jump around and cut my hand when I lift them in the boat.

champion Don't let the wire touch your boat when pulling it in though. I saw that on "1000 ways to die" tonight. The guy shocked the bejesus out of himself when the hot wire hit his aluminum boat.

There is 100s of lures on the market that will catchem. All of the above works great. Gay Blade I had forgoten about that one but use to catch many a fish using it. All the tail spinners work well, Lil Georges etc, etc. Schwoogie I like that slab in green were did you get those?
