Good! Now that we got all this silliness out of the way, let's work on getting together to go do some fishing!
American and Welsh, eh? Most Interesting!
Welcome to the TFF, and i am serious about hooking up to do some fishing!

Cats, Carp, and especially gar are all hardier fish then bass, and survive in conditions bass cannot.
However, that's not the case in this spot lol.
It's the Elm Fork of the Trinity. There are Largemouth Bass everywhere in that river lol.

About the only thing i have been "snagging" there lately is nice channel and blue cats, lol. and one nice hybrid!
Not sure exactly where you fish out there, its a big area, but I will admit, it is a river, with a current, and flowing water tends to move things around, as well as bring things from upstream and deposit them in wide or deep areas, like the area behind haggar.
I do snag up on occasion, but not enough to keep me from going back! the catfishing is just too good! and in the spring, the crappie are just to big and cooperative to ignore.

I went to haggar sat morning for about 1 and half hours I caught a sand bass, an lmb, a gar, and about a 6 lb blue cat on a live bream. I caught the gar and sand bass on a white rooster tail and the lmb on a panfish assassin with curly tail. I threw my net to try to catch shad, but only caught 2 big shad and 3 small bream.

My son and I fished it last week including Rainy Day Sunday ( 1 bass each per day, > 14") 4 days out of week.
On Sunday, - short bites... plastic worms and mini grubs w/curly tail...greenish black in color.
We'll try again today....

Compared to the Florida Large Mouth Bass, the bass are just slightly different.
Mouth not as wide...not a bronzeback, not Texas native 'guadalupe', not a kentucky spotted -
Texas NATIVE River Bass...is there such a thing?
