We found about the only place on the lake you could fish with the wind blowing a hard 10 mph and gusting to 15 mph and we put out 5 lines for big fish.
We missed our spot the first time and only caught a couple of box fish.
On the 2nd drift we zeroed in a little better and Lee caught a 28" fish.
Just a little after noon the big girl came calling on a gust of wind and Lee hooked up and said, "It's a big fish".
Ken and I grinned when his rod bowed over nicely and the fight was on.
The fish did a good job, but Lee was more determined and we put her in the boat for pictures and measurements.
Apparently full of eggs, she weighed about 40 pounds and was only 40" long, a fatty!
We called it quits at about 2:30 and had caught 15 or so blue cats from 3 to 40 pounds.
We had kept 3 box fish, but gave them away at the ramp and made a clean get away for some hamburgers!
