Also know as White Amur. What can you tell me about these? Do you fish for them? I once saw one while I was bass fishing that came up right next to the boat, plain as day. It was at least 5 feet long and a minimum of 75 pounds. It was shaped like a submarine. I researched them and read where they have been recorded as reaching up to 400 pounds. Hard to believe that. Carp fishing is starting to really intrigue me.

Yes, you can catch them. I have caught some on sweet corn. My biggest is 36-1.

The 400 fish is no way in he;; a white amur. It is likley some asian carp, as they get pretty ginormous.

Grass carp dont fight well, they tend to give up rather easily, although some have been known to go nuts on you.

If you catch one, you need to baby the fish and get it back in the water as soon as posible. They die rather easily.

Good luck!

Asian carp are not even close to Grassers. Triploid just means they are sterile and can't reproduce.

Well, the amur is originally from Asia so it's not technically wrong to call them that, but PondBass is correct in that the Asian carp that you hear so much of in the news these days is actually usually one of two other species, the silver carp (these are the prolific boater-slapping jumpers) and the bighead carp.
