Guessin Ill get the 100 dollar one from bass pro its supposed to handle up to 11"? Man im foammin at the bit waitin for this thing to get here! Havent heard any chatter on here about these. new units, almost pulled the trigger on a 1197 in november. Then then I heard these were commin, gettin it for same price 2 months later!

I just got my 1198 in last weekend along with a RAM mounting bracket, part# RAM-D-111U-C. I found it online for about $85. It is a heavy duty SOB!

I'm using the old Humminbird mount that is like the Johnny Ray with my 1198.

googled that part and its the same one at bass pro! Amazon has one for 81$ so might have to chk that out. Anyone have anytime on the water with these yet? I know I cant wait its my first SI unit!

Curious as to how to mount the transducer? seen alot of stuff for other jack plate mounts, but I have a manual Hydro and havent seen anything online for that yet!

KingChamp202, just contact Scap at Transducer Shield and Saver. If he doesn't have a L bracket to match your jack plate, he will make one if he is familiar with that model.

KingChamp202, what do you mean "screen shots". The function of screen shot is the same as the 1197 as it has the same screen size and resolution. The physical appearence is the same as the 1197 also. You can see that on the Humminbird web site. I have mine set up in my den beside my 798.

I also have been experimenting with the Video Out feature using a auto DVD remote monitor.

Cant wait e-mailed the transducer guy to see what he has for my style of jackplate. Those are nice photos cant wait to get my unit its killin me!
