I used to have a good osgood pie recipe.... made it a few times. And now I can't find it. Tried another recipe and it came out soupy and overly sweet. So...
Ha. so weird. That's a family deal for us and has been for as long as i can remember with my grandparents. My dad kept it going but didnt make any this last season. I like a slice of osgood about once every 2 or 3 years.
My wife made a shoo-fly pie night before last. It turned out horrible. I can see now why they called it what they did. It looked like a pan full of poop and i;m sure the flies would've been happy to land on it.
The taste reminded me of osgood and i actually searched for recipes for it last night.

I didn't know what Osgood pie is. I googled it and there were several recipes and they all sounded good.

Do you know the history of the name of that pie? I'm curious cause my great uncle lived in Osgood, Indiana which was famous for having a tree growing out of the courthouse roof. Probably no connection but I am curious.
