Newbie here: Is there something special you have to do with braid? Like use superglue or something to knots or the ends?

mj,

I prefer braid above all (little to no stretch, no line memory) and I dont use any thing special.

Im assuming youre having problems with it slipping out of knots?
If so, you need to know that some knots wont work well with braided line.

OK that's real helpful! - MJ, when using a leader on braid, tie ether an Algright or a Uni to Uni. If tieing str8 to the bait, use a Palomar with a grannie knot at the tag. Glue over the leader knot is not a bad idea to slowdown the wear thru the eyes.

+1
As crazy as it sounds braid is all I use. Experiment with different knots and you will find one that matches the type of lines your using. I didn’t have much faith in leader knot’s till I put the surgeons knot to the test with some big black drum! Using 20lb power pro and 25 lb seaguar red label fluorocarbon leader material.
