Navionics 2011

Navionics is not offering a new product release for 2011 – Navionics will manage updates thru the freshest data concept. Any Navionics HotMaps Premium, HotMaps Platinum, Fish’N Chip, Gold or Platinum+ products purchased Oct 1st 2010 onward will be eligible for unlimited updates of the gold component for one year. Navionics webstore is expected to be available in the coming days. The customer can then register his/her chart on the webstore and then will be able to obtain the updates for one year at no charge.

I have spoken with the Product Managers regarding new Texas data and have been informed that new fishing information has been sourced and is currently under review for inclusion to our product but I am unable to provide any dates for this.

Welcome to the world of Navionics

In a word, yes.

We have done a lot of work on new sources to replace the data that was available in earlier versions.

Based on what I have seen, it is as good as the old data but there is actually more of it we can use.

The challenge now is positioning it so it isn't just a pretty picture (as it is on other mapping products) and has real value OTW.

You know me Ronnie...I'm our products harshest critic, I KNOW what we need to add. The new stuff is gonna be good and will be available as a free update to anyone who has purchased a HotMaps Premium or Platinum chart from this past October on. It should include all, and more, of the data that some of the newer map companies are selling for $45 a lake.

time frame and specific water bodies are what we are working on now.

As of today, the short term targets include Fork, TB, and Sam Ray

Since this is posted on an offshore forum, I will also add that our Gold, Platinum, and Fish N Chip customers will enjoy the same free updates for a year from registration.

The only charts that are not eligible for the free updates are Classic Charts and the basic HotMaps products.

So let me get this right. My chip I bought in 2009 is not eligible for the update nor is it eligible for trade in credit. So that means I have to buy a 2010 chip correct?

Charts purchased prior to Oct 1 are considered to be 2010 products and are not eligible for the "freshest data".

Yes...its time to update to a new Navionics Premium, Gold, or Platinum chart. You are guaranteed to get ALL of the new content we will be adding in the coming months for free.

Jeff the reason I asked is the original message I got from Mary Ellen, before all this stuff posted was you have one year for free updates. Now im not around to use it anyway so if it is one year from purchase which is what it looks like she said above then I will wait.

Are they not eligible at all? or just not for free? you would think if it is the same base model SD card they should be able to be updated for a price.
