Wife and I headed to Fork yesterday evening for a quick getaway. I slept in the AM a bit and she had a conference call most of the day so I got on the water around noon for a solo trip. Was just planning on graphing some deep stuff and fishing the flutter spoon but the wind got crazy and it started to be a pain to stay on the deep spots. I decided to hit plan B and start flipping some creek channels. I figured with the bluebird skies and post front conditions it would be money. Did not take long to prove it to myself. caught this one that I would have sworn was an over but ended up being 23 1/2" and was pushing 9lbs on my cheapo handheld scales. She bit a 1/2oz LFT MPack jig in black/blue/plum paired with a LFT Flipper as a trailer in blue bruiser. I usually trim about 1" or so off the head when used as a trailer. She was on a creek bend on bigger timber that was sitting on a drop. The fish was about 5' and the channel dropped to 8' right where she was holding. Water temps were 48 degrees in that area. Had a few other bites on the jig along creek channels but nothing worth talking about. Every bite was along a bend that had bigger stumps/timber. Bite was very light and the wind was a bear to keep boat position or I would have stayed longer. They really wanted the jig presented super slow it seemed and again the wind made it hard to fish that slow effectively. Only fished about 2hrs but it was well worth it. Here is a picture of the fish and the jig. Not sure what heppened to her tail and otherwise she was healthy as can be. She was wide at the shoulders and wish I would have got a pix from that angle. I thought she was much bigger when I set the hook and just knew she was a DD when she broke the water. Also my apologies for the picture quality but I was solo and I was trying to hurry and get her back in the lake.

I needed to. grin

It was weird being the only boat in the LFM parking lot when I launched today. I had the lake to myself. I saw Hoffman's boat trailer when I came back in but never saw him on the water. I can honestly say its the first time I have ever had the lake to myself. thumb
