Suffix 65 pound braid on a 7'6" heavy pole with a 1 oz Black Angel football head jig with a 4 in chigger crawl trailor. You can feel everything

When you set the hook, will you just get a set of lips? A little overkill for crappie don't ya think? eek2

Thanks guys for all the various answers. I can see all sides of the issue. Sounds like some braid with a floro leader would work great, just like for bass fishing (as quoted above) smile

Add Fireline and you'll really start to feel things!

I have tried it twice, the last time was for several months side by side with the P-Line. Just don't care for the way it feels coming thru the guides and having to mess with a leader.

Steve,

I'll be the 1st to admit it's not for everybody. Matthew can't stand it so I don't have to worry about him grabbin' my rods wink

Just picked up some 10 lb Sufix stretch braid on sale at Academy. 150 yards for $4.88. Going to give it a try, never used it before. Looks and feels like normal braid with 4lb mono equivalent diameter. Says it gives 6% stretch for cushioning.
