I finally made it to the Boiling Pot in Rockport last summer and was flabbergasted at how bad it was. The shrimp and sausage were badly overcooked/rubbery - the blue crab was so small it was hardly worth cleaning - even the corn had spent too long in the boiling pot. The only thing on the table that wasn't overcooked were the new potatoes... To make it even worse I had bragged to my 6 friends about how great this place was supposed to be. blush

About the only good thing I can say is that the servers were cute/friendly and the beer was ice cold - I know every restaurant can have a bad day and maybe that was the case, but I won't be in a big hurry to give the Boiling Pot another shot after our fiasco of a meal.

Any restaurant that makes Texas Monthly's top 50 list.

What I can't understand, the place is packed. The salsa is terrible, the service is average, and they use the same shredded chicken in every thing. When you pay for a meal, it should at least be better then what you can make at home. I would never use shredded chicken. And I absolutely hate heated nonhot salsa. Hot sauce should be hot, not thermally hot. Mild [censored] heated up.

I don't plan on seeing if it has improved another three years down the road.

Taste is taste and everybodys is different but a lot of you Joe T. haters probably ordered fajitas or something else other than the Family style dinner. if you did therein is the problem.
They have been in business since 1935, stay loaded with customers year round, have zero freezers, four kitchens, and employee some 120 people. I dont think we're going to phase them.
One final observation...is there any restaurant in Texas that we haven't mentioned in this thread?.....LOL

So, you go to Joe T's and have to order something you don't want in order to get something that is fit to eat. That is why I consider Joe T's the most over rated restaurant in Fort Worth.

Most dissapointed I have been was Coopers BBQ.... was looking so forward to it having heard so much about it. It was the worst BBQ I have eaten. was Pissed off when I was done.

I like Joe T's lunches when you can actually order off of a menu. The dinner "family style" only 2 choices of enchiladas or fajitas was not one of my favorites. Like it waaaay better than the new Mi Cocina in Keller though. Talk about overated! I ate at the downtown (FTW) location many years ago and it was excellent. Dont know if they, like many other restaurants, have over expanded and lost of a lot of their allure. "C" Kincaids.

You're probably talking about the Coopers at the Stockyards. I ate there once, 2 ribs, 1/4 lb. brisket, 4 slices of sausage and a glass of tea-$28
Good thing it was on the company dime.

Cheese Cake Factory!!! Great place to stand in line to spend 20 bucks on a $10 meal that is always more caloric than tasty.

OK, I am wading into some deep water here. We just got a Fuzzy's Tacos here in Nac. I was anticipating it's opening because of the discussions I have read on this forum. Let me just say, Fuzzy's was a HUGE disappointment. It was neither cheap (one thing I had heard over and over) or good. Service was mediocre, food was lukewarm, and portions were small. Maybe not the most overrated restaurant, but a huge disappointment.

Mediocre food at a high price with poor service. What's not to love.

True but if you want to eat a lot and don't mind eating salad and bread, that's the one thing they've got that's a value. If it's anything else, total rip off and bad service due to understaffing in all phases. Typical corporate clip joint.
