Anyone use the shellcracker and/or lunker punker? I was thinking about picking up a few and just wanted some first hand feedback.

Thanks
Justin

I don't use the shellcracker very often but the 6" wood and 6" inject punkers are two of my go-to baits for spring/summer fishing.

Nice looking bait, but at $20.00-$40.00+ each I might not ever try them.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

I use the shell cracker, and I have had the best luck with it on Amistad. It's definitely worth a dozen casts at every spot you go to. Never know what is waiting for it, and it is usually a pretty good size fish that strikes it

Well worth every penny. You don't lose these as they float and you fish em on 25 lb mono or 65 lb braid. Big baits like these catch BIG FISH! I've got the punker I bought 4 years ago and it continues to catch BIG FISH! Do not be afraid Texans, They work very well and last for years!

Hell, that's cheap for a good swimbait!

Right JT?

I like the 5" injected Punker. It walks good and is not too big.

Depends on the body of water, BUT... a very AVERAGE fish is 4 or 5 lbs on the 9 inch Punker for the waters I fish (that's an average size for most bass I catch on any 8 inch bait or bigger as well), with many bigger than that (and a few smaller 3 lb fish eat big baits without much problem as well).

You gotta wade through your share of 4's and 5's to get the 6,7 and 8's (life can be tough LOL!) but you WILL attract bigger bites. Throwing big baits is not a "magic bullet" by any stretch, but when conditions are right for em, you can't beat em (or have more fun!) I don't throw the 6 inch so can't speak for that bait. I'm sure Matt can though, as he is always a very helpful guy.
