I am looking for a locker box(or something) that fits in the hole where the cooler is on my tracker panfish 16... anyone ever replaced the cooler with something like this?

I have checked basspro and cabela's and searched online...found nothing that "fits" but things that I might can make work.

Wanting to know if anyone has already done the leg work and found the perfect replacement.

I have not done this but,some wood & a saw should do the trick.
or use a little bit larger ice chest. an ice chest makes a gerat dry box. I know this sounds a little uninformed however,build a box the size of your old cooler & put it in place of the cooler.
it do'es not have to look store bought. It just needs to be dry.

Did your cooler rot out? Or are you wanting to replace it altogether?

The cooler in mine was old and gross and I bought a new one and now it looks good again. I just use the cooler to store tackle, and pack a smaller cooler for food and drinks to stick beside the livewell.

Thanks for the info...My cooler is in good shape, but looking for a replacement that fills the hole. Something that is flat to the surface and is dry.

I know the wood will work, but not looking to add wieght.

Any other ideas???

Maybe I am looking at the wrong places but I can not find a cooler that will fit my boat. I have measured the coolers and none of them will fit. Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks

I have the same boat as yours.. I have a panfish 16 year 1996..I have the cooler but i put a piece of stained wood over that hole to stand on and use it as a compartment..I no longer have the stick steering either..made a rear side mount console a little bit in the rear..I sold the live well in the middle so there is much more space.

From that end of the rear part of that compartment hole i have plans to extend it out about 3 or 4 feet to add more of a deck with that stool type bass seat to make it easier to troll up front..
I guess you could say mine is some what a locker box.. i have no lock pad on it though..you should check out Tinboats.net

You could have a lid made out of aluminum diamond plate if you have a good sheet metal fabrication place nearby. Have it made similar to the truck tool boxes and you would be set although it would cost. You might try the Plano website and see if they make a box that would fit also.
