Ok Old Frog - You got me!!! What can I say, I believe in my Daddy's boat.... lol
But I know how they are built and know how all others are built also.... seen it first hand....
I am a little partial with good reasoning not just come I am his #1 daughter....

Why don't we all belly up and quit yakking about this? We'll set up a time in the next three weeks on a known rough lake, and let's end the squabble.
I have no doubt there will be a lot of changed opinions in less than an hour.
I'd be more than happy to be the social director on this, just to shut everyone up.

I'm up for it. Lets have a weight class too. I'm in for the under 1100 pound hull class. I'll even offer to go to anything under 1250.

I have the perfect lake...in about March. Calcasieu... in Lake Charles, LA.
Roughest SOB there is.. when a SE wind is blowing 20 knots. I've seen 26 foot center consoles succumb to the white sheep in that lake. ( OK...it's really like a bay...but it's called a lake..lol)
Donna, your daddy is a good guy, btw....unlike that "other guy" from Vivian... Lots of folks around here ( Shreveport) think a lot of him.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

I've danced this tune before, so I'll tell you what's going to happen...
You'll have all the champ and allison guys show up ready to scrap.
The rest of these blowhards will be ghosts.

You tout how great your boat rides is that compared to a 16 Champion??? How about by size? 16-17 17+-18 18+-19 19+-20 20+_21 If you have a 20 boat it should be compared to a 20 boat!

Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. Trust me it won't take that much thinking....

Personally, at 61 my back has taken all the intentional punishment it needs to take. From now on I'd just as soon withdraw from a club tournament if I'm going to take a pounding.

Brown stripe you obviously have a low opinion of Allison1's rough water ride qualities.I have a saying "you don't know what you don't know",I can assure you his boat would run circles around you in rough water, with a smoother and drier ride and run faster while doing it and I'd put his boat up against ANY 20'er,smooth as butter! Your 300 or 400 series (can't tell by pic which you have?) won't touch it if you compare ride qualities.

I find it hard to believe an Allison is better than an equal length Champ, Ranger or Legend in rough water...

I would favorably compare the rough water water ride in my Allison with other boats I have owned, including Rangers. The difference is, I can usually outrun the bad weather in the Allison, not so much in the other boats.

I havn't owned a Bass boat for a few years so i can't speak for todays technology but i can honestly say that in the early 2000's that you would be very hard pressed to find a better boat on rough water then a BassCat!!!!

Whew...this could go for a while...that 520 series ranger is very comfortable....plus the legend is a very good riding boat, while neither is very speedy, they both offer a good dry ride
