Of course it's possible. It takes skill sometimes but I have caught full limits on the fly through the winter and spring.

Any thing is possible however,I know a place 32-36 ft deep BIG Speckled SAC a Lait will come up for a sub surface fly. A pistol pete in a natural brown or a small clouser white with an orange tail is killer, if you tie them a little bigger with a little lead wire around the shank boy you gonna be in trouble and if you get your hands on some shrimp or salmon colored hackle you will be checked by the man upon leaving the area deadly combos after this weather maybe Sunday I will have some good pics.

I got the perfect fly for that. Meta-Crappie. Throw on two of them about a foot apart for double hook ups. They can be tied is so many different combinations but right now I have three patterns. Here are two of them as an example.

Camo Meta-Crappie

Yellow Bird Meta-Crappie

Not a problem. Just let me know when and where. Those two are on my web site and I can make plenty of different color combos. Gotta watch those car doors.

Well I've been looking at my sons entry level fly rod from Cabela's for I've watched Wally using his 10' rod to jig trees at Ray Roberts and the light bulb went on! Hey I've got a #6 9' fly rod thats not getting used, hum maybe this will work with a ultralite reel and we're in business?

There is a fly called an orange comet that will catch
everything in the spring time. Even channel cat love it.

During the winter crappie run up the creeks, its very possible to catch limits of crappie on the fly rod, I have proven it many times. black/chart clousers with a pink weighted eye are the ticket at White Rock Creek and Rowlett Creek.
