Ivie for Nigfht fishing, Normally a few crappie and a load of whites. Ocasional Cat , And a few bass befour sundown.

There are catfish and 18" to 20" bass in Lake Sweetwater now. The lake refilled in 2007 and TPWD has been stocking ever since. The bait shop is open again. Bass tournament every Thursday evening till October. The campground is open. Maps, info, and photos at LakeSweetwater.com.

Dewey and Carolyn Nichols won tonight's Lake Sweetwater weekly Thursday evening bass tournament with three bass measuring 4.11 lbs 19 inches, 4.58 lbs 18 3/4 inches, and 4.01 lbs 18 7/8 inches.

Air temp over the evening was 95 to 85 degrees. Water temp at one foot was 86 to 82 degrees. The winning fish photo is at LakeSweetwater.com. What else can I say?

the water was dirty red color real muddy bottom
and i have never in my life time have seen a lake
the had been attacked by juggers
there must have been at lease 100 of so juggs out there
man really didnt have any place to fish the bite was off
but had a great time with the family !!! will be back soon
hopfully the juggs are gone and the fishing gets better
and another thing too many boats and jet skis to really enjoy a
day of fishing .but that a holiday for yea

I like Oak creek and it has a nice camp ground.

JB Thomas has had at least 100 baited jugs in it since the first of the year. I've been out there a few times and couldn't believe my eyes. Suprised there is even fish in there, but we keep pulling them out.

Be careful at Twin Buttes. Was there this past week. Water depth out from the ramp is 3-4 feet deep and dropping. The lake gets much lower it will be kayak fishing only.

Strictly bass wt, put 7 in the boat that day. Nothing much to brag about. The lake has some dandies in it.

For your drive out this way you would be better off hitting Amistad. When I lived in FS that was the only place we would go.
