I've bought 2 times from people on this forum.
One face to face deal, the other, I sent a check and got the reels in just a few days.

I wouldn't have a problem trusting anyone on this forum.
(To a point, that is...)

I bought a gps/sonar from coryp for a good price. Paid through paypal. As the deal progressed, he offered to throw in the gimble bracket, transducer, and ram mount for and extra $20. He received the money. I only received the head unit. He doesn't answer my pm's.

had a poor buy on a trolling motor, not quite what was represented but what disappointed me was the lack of a reply to see if he would adjust. three month or so ago and still waing for reply to two emails. Lesson learned is Buyer BEWARE.

After several buys and trades I have only had one bad experience. I bought an HDS 5 from a college student (I don't remember his name)and when I tryed to hook it up it would not work. I sent it to Lowrance with a letter about how I got the unit and they sent me a new unit for replacement. So I came out good on the deal, but it would have been nice to know that there was a problem going in.

I have had a few transactions on here, and all but one have been without a hitch. Don't remember the name of the one I had a hard time getting a Lowrance flasher from-had to get a mod to "remind" him to send it.
But I want to publicly say thank you to VettePRman-he sent me some old lizards that you can't get anymore and refused to let me pay for them. Great guy in my book!
Warrick sold me a Trion and sent the reel before he ever got the check for it. Doesn't get any better than that. Thanks Friend!
Bought a rod from leedman. Couldn't ask for anything smoother. Thanks-pleasure to have done business with you.
I know you Texas guys are a tight knit bunch and many don't like to do business through the mail so I have missed some good deals because of that. But to the others I have bought from on here-thanks, wish I still had your names. Have a blessed day-Eddie

Watch out for the "greenhorns" who join the forum to sell something.
Bought a Ranger from a guy who said "If you don't want it, I got people waiting in line". Wouldn't take it to the lake.
I ran the motor on muffs while Spanky listened to it on the phone.
Great motor, prop hub was spun. I still would have bought it with the bad hub, but he obviously hid it from me.

I agree completely. Alot of great folks here on TFF. I have put myself out on a limb several times by placing orders for members with the cash out of my pocket and to find out the individuals follow through with there completing the transaction says alot about the group we have here. I am truely gratefull to be here on the forum and look for many many years of enjoyment and meeting new people.

Just had a great buying experience with ZX190 MIKE!!! He's a great guy to deal with and visit with on the phone. I paid him via paypal on Saturday for some GPS units and the postman was at my door this morning trying to deliver them. 3rd day from Arkansas to McKinney, that's the fastest I've ever received anything. Honest and Fast, what more can you ask for?
Thanks again Mike!

Bikeman struck here also. Let him "test" a 9.5 Evirude and a trolling motor for several months. Short story: when I called him after several months, he couldn't remember my name. Said the motor had been stolen off his boat months prior to my call. Have not been able to get a reply from him since.

Mod, you should have one sticky thread like this in the NON FISHING CLASSIFIED forum.

I also dont think classified post should be allowed to edit. If theres a price reduction or change it can be adjusted in a bump. Folks should always go and check the sellers post. If the item is worth a lot of cash go and check all of them all pages. You will get a good idea of how honest the seller is. If post are allowed to be edited the seller can go back and change his "word" to his favor and not what actually happened in the transaction. I had it happen on the THF. Guy had a "cherry" rifle with less than 75 rnds through it. Checked the guys post and way back I found where it had be posted in the past and had more rnds than he was claiming on the new sale. Also sold a car to a guy on THF and 6 months later I am getting bills for the car from the State. Also if guys dont have but 1 post you need to pass the deal up and deal with folks that have been around for a while.
