I think I would rather be messaged here with an self invite versus being approached at the ramp. There are too many crazies out there to allow a complete stranger on my boat.

Just sayin.....

There are a ton of good wiper/hybrid lakes in both Kansas and Oklahoma. To be honest, the species is just now being targeted in those areas. I grew up in KS and we never fished for White Bass or Wipers. We always thought they were trash fish. Heck, we even went Carp fishing a lot because of how they fight (always released them, except when we kept them for trapping bait). I guess it all stems from the roots of fisherman there. They fish to eat, not for sport. That is why most of my family never threw back a fish. This is slowly changing. Also, the least fished lake in Texas is still pressured 1000 times worse than the most fished lake in Kansas (and most of Oklahoma).

Okay, this will be my last post (I hope) on the subjust of open backseats.

* I think we all can see by the posts here that the method I lined out will get you fishing more times than not (and, they probably won't take money for you either).
For those of you that said you wouldn't let someone fish with you if you had an open seat....I wonder if you would tow someone in from the middle of the lake if they had motor problems???? What if they looked different or like a killer or etc like you have lined out, would you deny them (food for thought)? Remember, they are complete strangers.....all my friends were strangers until I got to know them!

I am glad to see that the majority of the people here would gladly take the person at the ramp fishing and would hope that everybody would be willing to tow someone in. Not only is it ETHICAL it's also the law!!!!
