I fished chicken liver sudeen impact minnows couldnt get any cut bait because we couldnt find any perch or shad in our cast net. Fished shallow timber, a 15 foot flat, A creek, around the dam, humps,drop offs,wind blown points couldnt buy a bite presented on bottom with a carolina rig and slip sinker rig all depths varried between 3-25 foot Also lake was White river

i've got no clue, as when i'm in childress fishing this time of year i generally stick to shallow flats near crack channels as it offers a warm water place as well as the comfort of deep water where they can escape to if they feel the need and i generally fish the banks anyhow, but honestly no clue as they should be just coming off of bedding areas.

I was very puzzled with this problem only thing I can think of is that we where on the water at wrong time didnt get started fishing till about 9:30 or 10 and then got off lake at 5:30. Reason we where there so late is because we got there and our boat wouldnt start so we went and got my grandparents boat and it started but battery had to charge awhile. We left so early because we hadnt got a bite all day and where tired of all the jet fleas and intertubers going around us and the wind was bad to. So maybe with all the boat traffic they wherent feeding very well. Also the flat was about 15 foot inbetween those 2 big trees on the north side of island I think. If yu have fished this lake I think you know what trees I am talking about

nope never fished the lake as i live in dfw and have extended family in childress, i think the CLOSET LAKE I'VE BEEN AT TOWARDS YOUR AREA WAS LAKE LEON...and that was for a bass tournament.

sour you up some wheat or milo, get some sureshot punchbait and go slaughter some channelcat.

Well we did use some range cubes in every spot so Maybe these cats dont like range cubes or any bait we tryed. Will try and brew up some milo before next trip
