As some of yall know, Im still learning freshwater.

Are there any topwater softbaits that yall use/recommend?

Or is there anyway you can rig a plastic worm/grub to work as a topwater bait? Im currently rigging worms & senkos weigtless, but it still sinks.

I caught 2 - 14" bass on my last trip.
However, both of them struck the 10" black worms while they were splashing on the surface as I was trying to yank them on off the grassline.

LFTlures.com has a top water frog and a 5/0 swim hook these things are deadly!

You may want to try a floating worm with a straight tail, like a Zoom Trick Worm. Rig it with a 3/0 or 4/0 offset worm hook (not EWG) and a small barrel swivel about 2 - 3 feet up the line and twitch it around grass, pads, etc. Deadly!

Im often bank fishing in small areas.
The waters here is often tea-colored at its clearest.

LFT frog or stanley Ribit

This will be the 3rd mention of it, so it must be good!..my favorite soft tw bait - the Stanley Bull Ribbit frog (White!). I rig it on a 5/O hook with the spring keeper at the eye. If I don't have weighted hooks, I wrap lead/solder wire around the shank at the bend near the eye and crimp it to give it a keel so it won't roll over as easily. I throw it on 50# Braid or 20# Mono depending on the situation. It's a durable soft plastic bait too.
