How is the recreation boat traffic? Are there tons of people on the lake usually?

Boat traffic is not too bad. I was there today a few wakeboats and several jet fleas but you could get away from them. If you want to catch sand bass take a medieum crankbait in shad or chart shad and crank the bridge pilings starting from the east end. Your crankbait has to actually hit the piling as it goes by but the whites are almaost all good ones. I even caught about 10 huge whites on a dd22. The bass fishing is still kind of tough, early ribbits and spros in grass beds around goat island, after the sun gets up flipping grass. Good luck.

I really appreciate the info. If I can ever return the favor let me know. I usually fish Fork and have since the mid 80's. I just really want to try HC.
