Great.. more gun issues with the creek. I am bit confused how the bullet went that far and over the landfill. If the person did shoot from the range, he needs to never shoot a gun again, to be that bad of a shot to over shoot the range.

I live off of Pleasent Valley and Elm Grove near that range...I wouldnt be surprised if it didnt come off the range at all..People around my house out there shoot guns all the time,in fact,my wife's grandfather (down the street from us) had his car hit with a stray bullet.

But just the same...Its stupid, careless and needs to be fixed!

stray bullets are common in the hood... sorry it happend... buts never going to stop stray bullets everywhere... if you are going to have the gunrange closed... might as well boycott guns period...

Lots of good posts about that bullet not coming from the range. That is a long way for a .22 to travel 1.2 miles. Doesnt make sense.

The owner complains we are down there every year, as far back as I can remember, but obviously safety is not a big deal to him. They only shoot bird shot directly over the creek with the lead dropping in the water and woods. No big deal to the environment though or people walking on the trails.... Its just a nature preserve, no big deal hmmm. All he would have to do is move it over a bit and there would be no problem on that. Now, I dont know about guns that much, but it is lead they are shooting at clay pigeons, right?

I am all for shutting the gun range down unless they make it completely safe...and that includes the bird shot landing in the creek..That should not be allowed. This isnt China...We dont need to be polluting the creeks with lead!

The gun range has been there longer than the neighborhood. First come first serve to me. I think the neighborhood needs to move... =)

Its one thing to get a jig hung in a tree, it's a total different ball game with BILLIONS of lead pellets getting shot into a creek. No telling how much lead is in that creek. They have been open 40+ years? WOW thats a ton of lead right there.

this cat has been eating fish from the creek for years and he's still living and happy. Look at the smile. All the lead didn't impact him that much.

I caught 4 large catfish at the rapids near the gunrage this past weekend. I gutted the fish and found parasitic roundworms in all of them. I found worms in the fish that I caught near Lake Lavon dam last year. Is the whole lake/creek infested? I know it's safe to eat if it's frozen or cooked all the way...but if u take a look at the spiral forms of these worms...I lost my appetite.

I am already using lead free weights. have been for yrs, and they are every bit as good as the originals. Now slabs, that is a different story! Gotta have my lead slabs!

But i don't use them in creeks, so it don't matter.

Simple solution. Stop fishing that stretch of creek. I'd just fish elsewhere and be done with it.

I know right? That's the only place crappie and sandbass congregate!

They all need to watch the mythbuster episode on how a bullet will not have the power to scratch you at that distance if one could travel that distance/elevation difference.
