Yesterday morning before light, I'm the last truck in a line of trucks going down one of the dustiest roads we could find, and looking for all the world like we were in a parade. Opening morning of dove season. Finally got to a recently plowed field and everyone spread out around it like we knew what we were doing eeks. Then came sun up, and the war began. A steady rain of bird shot falling and I'm wondering how I'm gonna convience my insurance company it was hail that did all the damage. At about 10:00 the birds stopped flying. Tim had a few, Benny had a few, I had a few (less), and Jimmy (skeeter175) had only shot one guy all morning rolleyes It was fun, but I really think that this group should stick with fishin' loco

Exactly what I said yesterday at 10 am. I shot 6 warning shots at birds 100-150 yards away as that was as close as they came to me. Bad location. 8-10 hunters and 37 birds killed all together. I'll try it one more time this year and then I am sticking to fishing.

I can't wait for deer season , I usually have the whole
south end of Palestine to my self.
I am convinced that all lake lice drivers deer hunt,
because they dissapear from the lake when Bambi season starts smile

Nice to have everybody out opening day,we had a nice fishfry for lunch at Bennys, then the rain came, after the rain stopped we got a call from some friends hunting across from our place,it seems the birds we drove 20 miles to find yesterday morning had come home,so we did a little hunting, shot a few birds (and no poeples),so this weekend should be pretty good as long as the birds dont hit in a plowed field(2 1/2" of rain last nite).
It was pretty cool to see all that crappie fishing talent in one place without a rod in there hand.

I hit a dove with my truck yesterday. Had not done that in decades.

He was flying 5' off the ground like his butt was on fire.

Must have met you guys.
