So my tarp as a drift chute lasted about or 7 or 8 trips. One of the corners tore off last time out. How long does the awning material last? I am sure it lasts longer than the tarp did. Just wondering if it is something you have to rebuild every year or if it lasts a few.

That awning material lasts a long time. I have had my chutes several years and still on the same one.

Same ?? here. I got a 14' flat bottom. I know I shouldn't be out there when it gets too windy, but I feel safe about 10 to 15mph.
Thanks for the post. I have been wondering about a drift sock I just didn't want to ask.

The matierial - if I remember correctly - is 5' wide and comes in 50' rolls. I still have a roll in the attic somewher.e Anyhow, your jon boat would get slowed a lot with about a 7' or 8' wide by the 5' deep.

can you find this material on the Home Depot or Lowes website? I don't mean to buy online, but to show dense people like me what you're talking about. Is it this stuff? I hope I am wrong b/c I was looking to spend a lot less than that.

I got mine in December at Lowes in mckinney in the garden section. Not a roll, it was in a folded package. Think it was 6'x12'. Maybe $20..
