Ive been runing BFG Marathons on my boat trailor but finally determined THEY SUCK after multiple blowouts. Some of the guys here run Cooper Cobras and had good Luck. I put some TOW MASTER Trailor Radials on my camper and thougth abotu putting them on my boat as my dealer swares they will last better than the Coopers, Any feedback about these would be appreciated

I have them on mine now after the old Marathons went blewy. My dad has had a set on his for about three years. I didn't have a whole lot of choice when I needed a set because we were in east texas at the time. They are made by BF Goodrich more than likely their China branch as most all of them are now a days.

I have a set of 4 but I've only had them 2 years so I don't have any long term results. Funny thing is I had a set of Marathons for 9 years before they dry rotted, I guess I was lucky because I sure read alot of bad stuff about them now.

I have two on my trailer right now, and they wear very fast. They are wearing evenly but almost bald at 1.5 years old. My Goodyear Marathons have always outlasted all other brands if the air pressure is kept at 50 or above. I still have the original marathons on the port side of my 2004 ZX225 trailer that has been all over this big state.

90% of the time blowouts are caused by one thing, under inflation. That said, I have radials on my boat trailer and I just like the way it handles with them on. Plus, I did have a blow out one time and I am convinced the only thing that saved my rim was the fact that the radial side-wall wrapped around the rim and stayed there for quite some time. Don't know for sure how long cause it was dark, we never felt any difference in the way the trailer was pulling, and we just happened to stop to get some jerky at woody's in Centerville, when we discovered the blown tire. By the way, the other 3 tires were low and so was the spare, and I gotta say, it had probably been a month since I had checked/aired the tires up.

I would assume they are fine, you will hear people talk trash about marathons and carlyls, but I have had good luck with both of them.

Because a person blew out three sets of (marathons, carlysls... you fill in the blank) doesnt mean there is something wrong with the tire. Tens of thousands of others use the same tire without issues. No telling what it is that makes them fail, mounted improperly, under inflated, hit something with it going down the road, picked up a nail while you were driving, overloaded, too old, and the list goes on.

Also for you guys that have tandem trailers you ever notice that the vast majority of flats happen on the rear tire, I think the first tire will kick it up and the second catches it.

My flat on my tandem was a front tire. It was the first time I have ever had a flat and did not know it immediately.
