I fished last Saturday and did pretty well. I fished the left side of 4 fingers around the long shallow point that extends out into the lake. I caught one fish on topwater. I tried a pop-r, spook, and a new prototype I made. Prototype caught the fish. But nothing for about 20mins so I switched to a FatFree Fingerling Shad crank. Started throwing next to the grass and running it parallel to the grass line and started to catch some numbers. I was using the 8-10 foot diver and slow rolling the crank right next to the grass. If I hit grass I would let it float up a bit and then real again and most of the bites came when I was touching the grass and about to let it float up.

I was there pretty early and caught all the fish before 9am. 13 bass in total with a nice 6pound kicker. Every single fish looked like they had swallowed a grapefruit! Really healthy fish! The lake looks amazing with all the grass and water is pretty clear. But the temps are really hot. Surface temp went up to 88 by 9am! The fish are deep by that time just chilling or running shad balls.

I did not catch anything on my deep bite at all.

good luck out there!!

Deep bites are tougher since the lake filled back up. The bass are scattered around chasing shad and not really relating to much cover and if they are on the cover they seem to not be interested in MY bait at least!! frown
