so im going to redfish bay in the end of september and i wanna get everything i need now so i had a question about fish bags. has anyone used them does anyone have a preference on what is better, which will last longer, what holds up better to salt water use. im considering these as options.

I;ve had a couple... they worked great! Dont hold ice long, but will last forever if you wash out that saltwater after use. My 42" Chrome Cheapo brand works best, use frozen water bottles instead of loose ice. Makes it tougher to paddle on windy days too!

i thought ice wasnt really required with these bags is that just an extra safety step or what...? also if im lucky enough to catch my limit on trout or redfish while im there does that mean my day of fishing is over? im not really interested in fishing for anything else while im there except maybe shark.

I use the melting waterbottles to drink and to keep fish cold(try it without ice and you may never want to smell fish again), and I line it with a big clear trashbag. I throw back the big-ones, and never keep a whole limit of fish...so I guess that doesn't bother me. I really only keep crappie and bluegill, everything else goes back in the drink hammer

I use the bag they sell at Sam's for transporting frozen food.It is basically a soft side cooler for cheap and holds ice a lot better than expensive fish bag.Just wash and let dry before storage.Lasts for years.Bill
