Ok-- I put it in the garage when I got home and just went back out there and didn't smell it. I guess what happened was that I couldn't resist the temptation and opened it up in my work van. THAT won't happen again. I think I'm gonna split some of it into pint or quart containers until I understand how I'm gonna use it better.

Is Sure Shot a "punch bait" like Danny King's that has fiber incorporated so it stays on a trebble hook? I have had good luck with DK's, but the guys on this board that recommend Sure Shot know their stuff. At $20/gal. Sure Shot sounds like a good deal. DK's and similare punch bait runs about $4-5 per pint at Academy. May make the drive to Denton tomorow or Friday and pick up a gallon.

BTW Derek, If you want to come dip you out some, just get yourself a container and come to Red Oak, I'll hook you up with some and if you like it I'll pick some up for ya. I go to Denton once a week right by where he sells it.

I saw DK at a baitshop yesterday for $39.95 for a gallon jar. I knew this was a great deal.

best 20$ you ever spent on catfish bait, that's for sure. just use a number 6 or 4 treble hook...push it down into the bait with a paint stir stick, smooth the bait back over the hole you made pushing it in, and then pull it back out at an angle. one time oughta do it, but sometimes two or three will load up the hook better. scrap off any excess, you just need enough to somewhat cover the treble. use only enough weight to get it to the bottom, or for even more fun, hang it a foot or two under a cork and fish close to the bank in two or three feet of water. You are going to catch a LOT of catfish on that stuff if you use it in the right spots!

Thanks Novato. Sounds like great stuff and a great price. I am going to go pick up a gallon this week. I have a couple of empty Danny King containers that I can load for each trip. Lots of shallow coves with timber on Ray Roberts. Pefect places for a good punch bait under a slip bobber.

Reading this topic takes me back..... Once upon a time, a long, long time ago... The wifey and I were newly married, found a house to rent from an elderly couple. We were laying in bed on July2, with the holiday coming up, nothing but an oscillating fan on and the circuit breaker blows...I go outside and find the breaker box open it up and it looks like the 3 stooges must have wired that thing To make a long story short, after notifying the owners of the issue and getting cussed out for it we decided it was time to leave (were only there a couple of weeks) Moved out, collected our deposit and I left a parting gift Middle of summer, high 90's and had been fishing... shrimp, liver, coagulated blood left in a cooler at the extreme back of the yard for better than a week prior to power problem and cussing out... Take 1 part heavy duty hefty bag filled with the fluid from that cooler, hang in the crawl space under the house and make a couple small pin holes. Take the rest of the fluid from the cooler and load the swamp cooler Wish I coulda seen their faces the first time they fired up that ole swamp cooler.......... Laterz, dafanman

the website says $35/gallon? That price includes shipping. If you pick it up it is $20.00 Where are you meeting for your drift trip tomorrow on Lavon? If you go through Denton you can pick it up right off 380 and loop 288.
