It is almost September and game time. This will be the thread that we post our pics and stories on. I will try to get this "stickeyd" so it stays at the top throughout the month. With each of your submissions we would like a short story of it (date and time,body of water,bait, depth,fishing technique,etc.)You can be as concise or vague with the stories as you want, Ijust figured it would help the less experienced fisherman following the event and not fishing in it.Each entry will need 2 pics, one with you holding the fish dispalying the control item, and another showing the weight of the fish. If you can get all of this in one picture that will be fine also. I will post all of the contestants involved for September tomorrow and the control item will be released around 5pm tomorrow. Alright it is about time for Septembers control item. You can write it on a piece of paper or print it out on your computer. It has to be legible in the pic with the fish. If printing them I would suggest to print several because usually they are ruined after one fish. Following is what needs to be on the paper:

What if your fishing by your self do you have to be in the picture also or can it just be the control and the fish?

Eric, all of the ones I have fished before required you to be in the pic with the fish. Makes it hard at times, last year I had to load a fish in the livewell and haul butt to the ramp to get a pic made. So in other words, yes you have to be in the pic with the fish. I have since gotten a camera with a timer so I can do that.

Here is an example of a fish submission from an online tourney last year.

The control item can be seen in the pic with me and the fish. You will also need a shot of the scales that can be read. I will look to see if I can find any of my old scale shots.

Slow morning but got out a few hours after work and landed this 33lb, had another good drag ripper stump me and caught one solid eater. Thought I would post anyways for the comradery, Heck, had the printer paper but forgot the dadgum marker and I wasn't gonna hike back a 1/4 mile in the mud again .

Belton lake. And anyone who has fished Belton its not known for its catfishing. So its really good for it. I will bet it though from another lake last nights trip was a last minute thing and Belton is the closest.

I hope everyones fish catching weekend was better than mine. I won't complain about the company I had all weekend fishing because they were great. I got to fish with Derek, his BIL and nephew, Chase, my son and his friends, my wife, and also a buddy of mine and his kids. I put in well over 30 hours on the water fishing this weekend and a 16 pounder is the biggest I have to show for it. Caught a bunch of fish Saturday morning, we got a few Saturday night, a few Sunday morning, one Sunday evening, and a few today. I think the sudden 10+ degree drop in water temp has them in limbo, I know it does me. I wont be doing anymore trash talking til I have something to trash talk about I hope everyone had a good Labor day weekend.

Put in about 7 hours Friday and 6 hours today. Loaded up on the 2 to 6 pounders. Probably enough for 3 big fish fries.
But the bigguns didn't wanna play with me.....they sent in the second team.
Also ended up with more than my fair share of gar and turtles.
Dadgum 3 ft. gar knock my Gerber multitool in the lake, had to buy another set. So that was a $38 dollar gar I HATE freakin gar I'll just have to put the hurt on next weekend...only four more days

Sounds like lots had about the same results this weekend. The big fish are kicking our butts in the hide and seek game so far.

Not big fish but just to show you that I have not given up yet, I know it looks smaller but the one on the left is almost 2 lbs heavier than the one on the right, the left one weighed 11.60 and the right one weighed 9.80, finaly broke 10 lbs again, I am ready now!!!

It is only a matter of time Eric. Water temps have been cooling off fast, after the turnover big blues should be much easier.

Anyone know a magic water temp for turnover?

Not seeing many pictures of fish,I know some yall have to catching some!We where catching some nice one's before the fishoff,will be going this weekend.I will post them if we catch some,even though I not in this month,will be the rest of the time.

Most everyone I know got their hind ends kicked by the bigguns last weekend. Shouldn't be long now til some guys start getting on some gooduns.

With all of this big rain, I sure wish my tilt/trim motor would hurry and get in the mail so I can get back out soon. Some really good fishing out there with this new water coming in.

It was Lavon. Friday shallow fished west side, bumped ALOT of unseen stumps. Glad I was being extra careful and going really slow. Then shallow east side, then drifted on east side until wind died. Monday drifted main lake, then shallow fished east side. 2 foot and less on the shallow. 17 to 27 feet drifting.

Any of yall want to join me at Tawak around 5pm?

I've been busy at the lease trying to get ready for opening season but I'm trying to get out there Saturday to do some feeshin. I am sure I will have something to post soon. I am heading out for another round on Tawak at about 1pm. I plan to fish til dark. I hope they are in the same place I found them on Sunday but this time of year you never know. I do have a fish to submit but I dont want to submit it just yet, it is kind of embarassing I just knew I would already have a 30+ to submit by now but the bigger fish just haven't cooperated yet.

I had a 11.6 a week ago and I posted the pic just to aggrivate Zachery the Carp Fisherman, but I didn't take a pic of the scales, that might have taken 2nd place behind your 18 lb-er, but I doubt it!!!

I was counting my chickens last night. I had a surf pole double over and peel drag last night only to watch the big cat roll on top the water about 70 yards out and break my 30 lb big game. Oh well next week I guess lol. I'll submit a fish over 5 lbs this month guaranteed

water temps have been up and down along with levels. They are so mixed up and scattered it will be a week or so for them to calm down depending on lakes. I know the ones around here all went up from 6-10 feet over night. Great but now all the gates are open on the dam's and letting the water out as fast as possible so water levels are going down fast. That really mess's up fishing as well as a fast temp fall.

Alright I know the suspense is killing yall so here is my story. I got off work today about noon and decided to do a little fishing. Bait was really easy at the ramp, 4 throws yielded about 4 dozen big gizzard shad and about a dozen gills. I went to a spot that I found the fish at Sunday, they were still there so I set up on them. About 20 minutes into it one of my rods goes down HARD. I knew by the way the rod was bent it was going to be a submittable fish It rolled about 30 yards from the boat and when I saw the tail slap I knew it was at least 40+. Finally got it to the boat and in the net and when I lifted it in the boat I knew it was really close to 50 or better. I took the scale pics no problem by myself because my scales will hold the weight on the screen. The pic with me and the fish and control item was different story. I tried to set the camera up a few different ways to no avail. I looked over and saw a pontoon boat tied up to a tree about 500 yards away so I covered the fish up with a wet drift sock and over I went. Come to find out they were TFF'ers and didnt mind at all taking the pic. I got the camera and it wouldnt come on, I left it on while running over there and the batteries were dead. Luckily I thought ahead and had some more fresh batteries. They took the pics for me and I released her full of piss and vinegar to grow up. The fish was caught in 17.5 foot of water on a big gizzard shad head. Now for the pics:
