Hit the water at 6 o'clock, off the kayak launch. The amount of dead fish was unbelievable, thousands of dead shad(ok), and from where I was standing, there were about 20 LgM Bass(4lbs+). The water was just too hot, by 10:30 the fish were being cooked by the sun and the smell was pretty bad.

I used live shad, cut shad, live tilapia, cut tilapia, and cheese bait.

Not one bite, hell I would've been happy if something was at least stealing my bait...

You will get some of those days. As for the fish kill it has been going on for the past few weeks. Oxygen content due to the heat. I would suggest night fishing or very early morning fishing until it cools down some. Good luck.

Ive used all those baits recently and it seems that shrimp has been working best. All the other baits really didnt work at all, And yeah its true you need to be on the lake early in the morning or late afternoon to night time.

I just hope it cools off fast so I feel like getting back on the lake.
