Another Lake Dunlap Report

My son and I ended the day with a mess of bass upto 22.5 inches. 1 yellow cat and a couple of ufo's that broke off.

It was the same, live bait.
That big bass was my 5th trophy fish. As of today, I achieved my Elite status. The program that the state puts on. I will be number 10 on the list. It took me about 8 months to achieve this. VICTORY is sweet....

That is a heck of a job Jugmaster. I've got a late start only being in Texas for a little over a year, but I am going to try and get at least one or two trophy fish. Dunlap is starting to grow on me. It is a beautiful part of the river and that cool water helps with the summer heat.

What is elite status? I just got back to Texas after 14 years of being away, so pardon my ignorance. I couldn't find the answer online. Anyone have a link?

Wow. Ask and you shall receive. I went to Dunlap today in search of the elusive redear sunfish. Still had yet to catch one down here in Texas. I ended up catching a boatload of redbreast sunfish and bluegill. Quite a few were in the 8-9 inch range. Then I finally get a redear and a nice one at that. Ended up being 11 inches and got two more that were both over 9. Those were the only three I got but good enough to qualify me for my first big fish award. I know it isn't a huge bass or catfish but it is a start. Here is the redear. It bit on a nightcrawler.
