As you WET the line, lightly pull both the tag and main line. At the last sec, raise the loop over the tighter cinch. Lastly, tighten and finish the kot by pulling the TAG. This will prevent stressing the main line!

I had three line breaks yesterday, all three were tied with Palomars, is there something that may be causing this repeated agravating scenario, all broke right at hookset, heavy cover flippin frogs, SNAP. SNAP. SNAP.
HELP! If you are not real careful with a palomar, when you cinch it down, one end will actually move toward where the bend in the hookeye mets the shank. That spot will nick the line every time. When I screw up and do not pay extra attention to that, I just cut it and start over. That!!! That right there is what causes a Palomar to fail!! 'At's why I allus tie uhh TRILENE KNOT!

I UL fish a lot. 4lb and 6lb line is what I'm using 75% of the time and the Palomar knot is the only one I really depend on for UL and L line fishing. Tie just about all of my line to hook/lure knots with a Palo Knot now.

Flurocarbon is so hard that it will actually cut into itself. So as before mentioned in the thread, make sure to wet and clinch evenly. The palomar is the only knot I use.
