I had the pleasure of getting a Skeeter Factory Tour this past Tuesday and it was a fun experience. These tours are open to the public and are free. They offer them Monday thru Friday from 10:00AM till 2:00PM. Expect to spend about an hour minimum and they walk you through all phases of the boat building process. The Skeeter plant is located just off I-20 in Kilgore and I would call ahead to make a reservation. One thing that really stood out is how nice and friendly the people are that work there. I saw at least 80-100 employess and all I came in contact with treated me great. I also noticed how much them were seeming to have in building the boats and each one seemed to care about the quality they put out. I came away even more impressed than I already was about the brand. You always hear how the "big" boat companies do not build as quality a boat as the smaller ones but from what I saw I have no doubts the Skeeter folks care about what they build.
Right now they are putting out close to 40 boats per week with about 5 of those being bay boats and fish/ski models. The rest are bass models. The plant is climate controlled so they cam manipulate the curing process of the fiberglass and let me tell you it is a HUGE facility. As you can see from the pictures they had no qualms almost to the point of insisting I take pictures of some of their trademaerk type builds. Anyway here are the pictures. Enjoy.

bouncyI took one a few years ago also. It is very interesting. You can get some first hand knowledge on what and why they do certain things that make Skeeter a great boat.

Great pics-impressive factory. Don't you think they should slip a motor in your vehicle just for taking the tour? Yeah right
