I use Stabil. My marine dealer told me to use some form of fuel stabizer with every fill up.

Dealer where I have my boat worked on has told me that they've been in motors that have run stabil or (insert your additive here) and ones that have never and they really couldn't tell a difference. I store very little fuel in my boat, filling up before almost every trip to keep the fuel fresh and stay on top of my filters. No problems yet. My boat doesn't get a winter break so no worries there.

Stabil Marine(green) every time I fill up. Cheap insurance against ethanol fuels(even if you do not believe the claims against ethanol and outboards). A little goes a looooong way. An ounce per ten gallons. One bottle treats 320 gallons! If I think it's going to sit a while(a month or more) I put in regular stabil(red) which simply treats the fuel for storage. Red is great for all your small engines that might sit all winter(mowers, weedeaters, dirtbikes...). WackySenko be careful about leaving your tanks empty for extended periods. Although some believe they are leaving less fuel to "go bad" your tanks actually develop more condesation(water) when left less than fuel. Really not a problem if your boat gets used weekly. Wish mine did!

i took my boat to the dealer today for minor repair. i asked the mechanic about this topic. he said they treat all their fuel,no matter what engine it may run through. The fuel lines suffer from the effects of ethanol. He said they always add a stabiliser to the fuel. He said run the lower octane, never premium, and add stabiliser. He said they use Seafoam.

Thats exactly what I do...I run the low octane fuel to reduce heat and Sea Foam in every tank...If you watch the sales at O'Reilly's they will run Sea Foam..buy one get one free...from time to time...Thats when I stock up...
