When throwing your net for shad, if you have 20 times more crappie than you do shad, that's a good sign to move and go throw your net elsewhere cyclop

This picture really doesn't show it well. These boogers were in a pile here. Once I got the landing net out to start scooping them up to toss back, those dang things went everywhere. Because of this ONE throw, 1st Gateraid of the day came out of the cooler at 5:45 a.m. Oh, and in case you were wondering, there were 23 threadfins mixed in there smile

Are there any sandbass in this pic?

Fishing LL Sunday was awesome. By 9 a.m. I had the boat back on the trailer and headed home because I was whipped. If I didn't know any better I would have thought it was May. First stop of the day I marked a few fish holding close to a hump. Dropped anchor and started to bait up rods with 3 - 4 in threads. It was all I could do to man 3 rods by my self. Fishing was non-stop from 615 - 745. I stoped counting hybrids after 10. All keeper size +. There was 1 sandbass and about 4 catfish mixed in. Everything else was 5 - 7lb hybrids.

Around 8:15 I had rods and anchor pulled in and looked up for the first time of the day. From where I was sitting, I could see 3 big boat shows. Main lake, twin poles and deadmans. Looked like alot of boats and I had enough to satisfy me that day so I took it on in. Was even able to stop by Braums for some hotcakes and sausage on the way home food

Everything went back to swim another day. All fish were nicely hooked in the corner or top of the mouth so everyone went back healthy and happy. Sorry, no pictures this trip. I was alone and I never had any time pick up a camera. Several fish were lost because I just couldn't get to rod. Crazyness....

That is an amazing sight. There looks to be over 50. I bet it was a struggle to get the net in the boat. Thanks for the report, one of these days I will get to LL but this week it will be off to Texoma.

Ya, I was all kinds of ready to pull that net in as I felt all the "thumps" while it sank. And yes, pulling it in was quite a chore wink

Brian, go get some glasses! laugh

Hybrids like only the heads. You have throw the rest of the crappie up on the bank for the buzzards....

Gene, I agree. I had to stop and take a picuter of it because I knew nobody would believe me otherwise...

Yes Mike, great bait. Like I told Todd, I only use the heads and throw the rest up on the bank for buzzards wink

Good thing I'm a honest guy. The crappie guys have at least 50+ crappie still swimming smile Have fun catching those things that fight as hard as a wet plastic sack...
