Just wondering if anybody fishes the pond in fort worth off bryant irvin and I-20. right behind the saltgrass restaurant.

What kind of fish are there.

I know the carp folks fish here and catch, seen lots of people fishing when i am out there but dont know what they are catching

Been wondering the same thing myself. I work near 20 and Hulen and been considering trying it.

I was thinking about going there this weekend. But I went to Costco yesterday, and the water is very slitty due to run-off from the road construction in the area (Southwest Parkway) to the east and south. The west side of the pond and the dam area by Salt Grass may be clearer. Usually the water is clear. The water in the pond to the south by the apartments on Overton Ridge is completely silty. I have driven by there a lot because I live in the area and shop at the Target and Costco.

If the bird population can be trusted, this might be a good pond. I have seen Herons, Ducks and Seagulls in and around the water.

I saw a dude pull a nice fat largemouth (2-4 pounds) out of there one day as I was driving by...so there is some bass in there for sure.

this last april and May i caught the devil out of the bass there. Me and a friend both caught 6 pounders on the same day. Ive caught several in the 2 to 3 pound range. So there are some good bass in their. have not fished it during hot weather so they could be harder to catch. Park in the costco parking lot and walk down and fish the east bank. Thats where i had most of my luck. I also caught a bunch of pan fish on the Ultra line.

also yes after any amount of rain the water is very muddy on the costco side as stated by Allyn and its clearer by salt grass. Ive also caught them over by salt grass but not as many.

We have struck out the numerous times we have tried fishing there lately.

so where do i need to setup to catch some fish? on the pizza hut side, or the saltgrass side?

Not sure about where to set up to fish, it is basically a big tank that is probably the same depth all over althoug it's possible that there is some structure such as rip-raps. I saw
a bunch of water turkeys diving in there back earlier in the year. Back in the early 90's there was an article in the newspaper about a 50lb cat taken out of there.
