Going down to Port Aransas this weekend for a Party boat fishing. Considering Fisherman's Warf Saturday night 12 hr fishing (10 pm to 10 am). Has anyone tried this? What can I expect to catch. Price is $100, so I want to catch something worth for the dollars.

Snapper season opened Jun 1, they will most likely be bottom fishing for Red Snapper. Good chances for decent Amberjack, Kings & Blacktip, rarely an occasional Grouper.
I tried to be normal but it got boring so it's just back to being ME~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Never argue with an Idiot, They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

cant go wrong with the scat cat! I was out about a month ago and endded up catching 12 b-liners and vermilion snapper, blue runners, groupers, King macs. We also caught TONS of Red snappers that went up to 15 lbs. At the time, red snapper was out of season but it would be a BLAST NOW! Largest fish landed was a 35lb king mac but there where 3 others with the smallest being around 15lbs.
For red snappers, if you figure $4 per pound at the store and you put a hurtin on them, you'd come out pretty good.

Is it the Scat Cat that uses electric reels?

My buddy took one of the boats out scat cat or wharf cat this past weekend and the fishing wasn't all that great. Red snapper limits are 2. He was catching small ones and throwing them back to try to get 2 big ones to keep and the captain called and said everyone had their limit. They were keeping every dink they caught and limited out fast. My buddy was pretty mad

I have not fished with fishermans Wharf, but I have fished deep sea and dolphin. Dolphin, in my opinion, just plain sucks! Lazy crew. We were tying our own hooks, getting our own bait, and gaffing our own fish with what dull gaffs they had on board. Lost several fish due to dull gaffs. Deep sea hdquarters on the other hand was very well run and I have had 2 good experiences with them. This summer, I will give fishermans wharf a try because i want to go out on a 12 hour on saturday and deep sea only does one on wednesday.

I have been out with all the boats in Port A the 2 I like best are Deep Sea headquarters and Fishermens Wharf. I have had goo dtrips with both of these. I will be going with Fishermens Wharf next week.

No need for me to even try anyone other than Deep Sea Headquarters. I know what to expect from them and I'm very satisfied. When Capt John Brennan was there...he was great when we chartered the entire Pelican. But the other guys are good too.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

I will be going with Fishermens Wharf next week. Same here. I've been going out for the past 24 years and I've tried them all in Port A. My two favorites are Deep Sea Headquarters and Fisherman's Wharf. I generally give the nod to Deep Sea Headquarters.

Its been ten years since I went on a party boat(actually it was nov '08) but we had a excellent experience with the dolphin express. Fishing was good all day and the deckhands were always on the ball.

We private charter Deep Sea Headquarters Kingfisher every labor day, missed last year but that's another story. The crew has always been good and the captain great. I would not recommend anybody else. I did the Scat Cat once on the 12 hr. night excursion party boat and it sucked a lot of hind end if you you get my drift. Oh and yes the reels were electric!!

How long are these trips and how far out do you go? The wife and I are going in July, usually charter a private boat and thought about just hiring a bay guide but this may be an option this year. Thanks.
