exhaust in cooling water

I have a 40 hp. Mercury 4 cyl. 2 stroke
I have exahust coming out with the cooling water. Never did that before. I have replaced the exahust baffle gaskets. I saw no cracks on the exhaust side....
Could a bad water pump allow exhaust to mix with the cooling water?

Cooling water is suppose to mix with exhaust. That is how it helps cool the engine and also quite the exhaust.

Cooling water is suppose to mix with exhaust. That is how it helps cool the engine and also quite the exhaust. +1

Ok, but its not normall for exhaust to come on the pee hole is it? Can this be from a bad water pump?
