From Time to Time I get the pleasure of getting to film a Great Stick on there Home water for the TFF. Well this past week I got to do that and something more. I got to film Dillon Lee on Bob Sandlin fishing some Deep Water stuff, and explaining how he would attack it and how he deals with certain situations on Bob Sandlin, such as Boat Pressure, Weather and changing Water Levels. I also got to pick his brain about a Charity tournament he puts on through Farmers Insurance, which Dillon owns a branch in Mount Pleasant.

The Charity Tournament is called Bassin for Babies and is on Lake Fork. Its pretty touching to hear Dillon talk about his passion for the event. Dillon took the time to shoot a video on the Tournament and its posted below, you can also find all the information at www.bassinforbabies.com or call Dillon direct at (903)-575-0000.

Well I meet Dillon at Bare Foot Bay Marina to load his boat and head out to show us around Bob Sandlin. Now this was more of a Tips and Tricks not a how well can Dillon do type day. We all know he can whack them out there, but I wanted to know how he does it and what his approach is.

We launch and head across the lake to a main lake point thats about 25-30 feet deep where he will spend about 5 minutes idling and finding that perfect spot of depth change and fish. Once he finds the spot he waste no time dropping trolling motor and picking up a Crank bait to search for some willing bass. He lands a few bass when he looks around and points out the amounts of boats that are on the water for a Monday and how there were two big tournaments there that weekendOne in which he won.

Dillon fishes the point for a little while longer catching a few bass here and there and showing off his Sand Bass Skills

I have a Great Sandbass video, i'll stick up soon.

Be fore he sticks a pretty nice fish and looses it. That couldnt have happened more perfect to set up a great video on not letting things like that get to you.well perfect for us but Im sure he would have rather had the fish in the boat.LOL

It takes all of about 10 minutes and Dillon locates some fish on his graph and puts the cranks bait down and picks up the ole C-Rig and pulls it through the fish.
He starts telling me about on Sandlin how important it is to watch the graph and take advantage of the fish being there, because they sometimes move around a lot out there.

We make a move and I talk Dillon into giving up a pretty Good Jig Technique of his, yeah I know some of you already knew or done this but for me and many other TFFers this is something New that will help out my jig fishing attack. He calls it stroking a jig. He kept explain it to me but the demonstration he gives here is unbelievable and really opened my eyes to what he was talking about.

He knew it was the right time for the Jig Bite that way so he picks up the crank bait and BAM. He misses and fish but this soon follows that up with a fish and great info on the 804 CB rod by Dobyns

Dillon makes one more run and stops on another deep water point about 30 feet deep and hes lining up with stuff on the graph and bank I watch him do this for a few minutes and we get to talking about how important that is and to pick out points on land that are stationary to anchor by.

Once hes through talking about lining up cast, he spins the boat around and makes a long cast to a ledge that has brush on it. And sets the Hook into a Monsterwell maybe not a Monster but it put up a good fish few seconds

Well after fishing deep water stuff for most of the morning Dillon decides to take us where he culled up in his BLT Win a few weeks back. And show us the swim jig. Now one thing to watch for in these videos is his placement of the bait in and around docks and cover. He tells us what his thoughts are on the swim jig and how it can really add to an anglers arsenal.

Dillon takes me to a few of his productive docks and lets us know about what he likes or doesn't like about Sandlin Docks.

We wrap the day up about 1:00 so I can head over to Fork. After spending the morning in the boat with Dillon and seeing how he attacks Sandlin threes no Question how or whys in my mind hes one of the most productive anglers on not only Sandlin, but other Lakes through out Texas.

Dillon thanks for taking the time to break away and shoot videos on your home Water for the TFF. You said many times you have no problem showing why you do and how you do it and that were displayed on the water.

Remember TFFers to check out www.bassinforbabies.com
