I don't know how I missed this thread but I am very glad your son is doing okay now. Those snakes are bad news. I saw an article the other day on Star-telegram.com about the increase of snakes this year, for almost all of north Texas

Well being as he is going to be ok and hopefully fully recover I will ask the question. Did the Snake die from biting HIM? How long did it take for him to get to ER Chase? Man you can see how swelled he is. How did he happen up on this snake?

5/31/10-I am happy to report that joshua came home today! he is still looking at physical therapy for a couple of weeks but it looks like he will be fine with no lasting injuries. I want to take the time again to thank all of you for all the support! My family and I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by people that care about us. Most of you guys I have never meet face to face yet the concern has been over whelming. It proves to me that in a world where conflict and hatred against our fellow man is the domninant attitude these days , theres some good ole Texas fisherman who still care about each other! I will never forget all of the messages ya'll sent my way, thanks so much!

now, to answer mr chuckles....... no, the cottonmouth that bit him did not die. He kicked his leg to get the snake off and it slithered off into the tall grass! We live 1/4 mile from britton park at joe pool and he was walking home, never saw the snake until after it latched on! all you guys be very careful, they are really bad this year!

Great to hear he is doing better. I have been thinking about him every time I come across a snake, and used that as a learning lesson for my kiddos as well.

Your son has been in my prayers since last week.
Your exactly right, It is very tough to sit by and watch your son go through something like that. Instead (going through my deal, it causes tears to swell up)I know I want to stand up and fight back against everyone! But we have to put it in the hands of the MAN upstairs.
