All pictures taken 5/23/2010.

Let's start off with the pier at 91st.

http://galvestonfishingpier.com/

Now for some 61st.

Notice the steel stairways on top of the building. Right now there is just a 4x4 walkway to get to the construction.

These are wheelchair or assisted concrete walkways one can fish on. They are located near 9th, 29th, and 35th streets. Very easily accessible for the handicapped.

To be continued on the next post.

it is nice that they have paved the groins. but there is still the problems of what happens when your fish gets into the rocks and you need to get down on the rocks. that is where the problem lies. my husband slipped last yr and it cost us over 25thousand dollars for his hand and he is still rehabing it. the piers are what galveston needs. and if galveston county had any sense they would got to corpus and see how nueces county does their park sustem. i pay 6 dollars to fish at their county park and pier. and parking is free. that is for 2 people. 4 rods and a cast net. whereas if we go to seawolf park it can cost me almost 30 dollars.galveston could learn a lot on how to draw in tourists and also how to build dunes
