That's cool. You don't have to worry about being seen at night!! Also would make changing a tire easy at night.
Congrats, looks great.

what is holding the lights to the boat? Adhisive on the back of the lights, and what did you use to fill in the hole where the wire goes in? I'm thinking about doing this on my bass boat but can't decide if i want to install like yours or in the rub rail.

Thank you everyone, I wish the wind and rain would stop for at least one night this week so I can get back out there for some more crappie. We are taking them to Matagorda next weekend, trout fishing. All the kids in the ski boats are telling me how, "SICK" these are...hoping that means cool.

Fishinsoap, I had them install the lights and it is a 3M adhesive on the back of the LED strips, there is silicone in the entry hole for the wire to feed through. It looks like a simple enough install to do by yourself. They also have silicone clips that may be able to attach it to the rubrail, not sure if I would put them directly on the side they might get knocked off on your trailer or a dock or tree, my rubrail is solid, putting them inside the rubrail would be a cool concept.

NitroSlim, my rub rail is like the majority of the bass boats out there. How I found out I saw these on a center console with a splash rail and the lights were mounted facing down. The guy at the dock showed them to me and he could change the colors with a remote control his strips had the ability to switch to every color under the rainbow and a freaking dimmer and strobe, I went with this solid green color on the outside and amber on the inside of my ttop for low bug draw. I flirted with different lights but these were actually the brightest with the lowest amp draw out there, less than three amps. I run them all night for two nights off of one trolling motor battery, my old crappie light dragged the battery down in a few hours. I never have to worry about some drunk running over me at night every again.

So...I have a legal question. You aren't running you red/green nav lights or anchor light in the video. What is the law about running with these on instead of the required Nav and Anchor Lights?

Murray they are in Texas

Sac A Lait Slayer, they work for more purposes than I intended them for, baitfish draw and night fishing, I also got security on the water for me. They have a video up with baitfish draw, I have never had as many baitfish around the boat. When I get it back out I will video the baitfish and post it. 1 year warranty with my lights.

LEGALITY, Don told me they filmed the video without the naval and anchor lights on only to demo the lights for that short video at 1am at a ramp in a small river to send to me. I stopped at the TPWD office in Rockport two weeks ago, lights are legal as they told me they were when I bought them. As long as lights do not distort the size of the boat and you are still running with your nav and anchor lights game warden said and I quote, "wish everyone had a set at night if you ask me". They are legal for both the state and federal navigation laws.

Price I see has been posted above, I actually paid about the same but did not get the dimmer and paid them to install the lights, honey said ok with my tax return. I could easily have installed them myself.

I called and told Don about putting the pics up on the TFF today, he is going to register and answer these questions, I hate to speak on their behalf.

I've experimented with green LED's and haven't had much luck with them. We fished with some on the front of the boat and a regular green light on the rear. The green LED's just did not put out that much light. But then again, the lights on your boat look plenty bright.

We have checked the TP&WL and Coast Guard and your regular navigation lights must be working as per law... but there is no law requiring them to be brighter than other lights on boat... nor regulating what other lights you can have on a boat other than those.

Legally - you should still runs the legal required lights as well... there is no law governing which is brighter...

Anyone having any questions about the lights - I'll do my best to answer...

They are in a Patent Pending Process now and some of the details are proprietary at this time... however I can tell you that they are the result of both federal and several states research in Fisheries Programs combined with our knowledge in current technologies and energy management.

We also have a Canoe & Kayak system we have just completed the design of for those people that want to save gas....

The Skeeter set up in this forum is the "ideal" system... It attracts fish and yet keeps the bugs out of the boat at the same time....while still providing a "soft" useful light for the fisherman to move around , tie lines get another drink etc...

The RGB or multicolor system is for people that just want to "show their stuff"... and have the added safety of high visibility at the same time.

Sorry, I have posted email on the web site and my phone number for the lights... we have only begun marketing them in the past several weeks. Our preference is to set up dealers and train them to install them correctly.

We offer a very substantial discount to dealers who qualify...

These have taken off so fast that it has become a growth problem already... everyone that has them is still raving about them... and in turn we have an unbelievable response to them and the "dock version"

We are cureently running a 3-6 week backorders.

I think the Kayak version will be a huge success as well.

studyurfish, the life span on the lights is over 100,000+ hours. All of our lights come with a one year warranty to boot. The low LED amp draw keeps the lights cooler and running more efficient than any other light on the market. This all adds up to longer lifespans on our LED lights.

On another note boogieman. We will be running a 20% discount for Memorial Day TFF members today through June 5th. The inquiries from the good folks off of this forum have been outstanding, Thanks Travis for the great post on that beautiful Skeeter.

Headed to the classifieds section with the TFF promotion after this post. We will be running periodic discounts with our weekly ads on The Lone Star Outdoors Show with Cable Smith, our Facebook page "TopCat Marine Lighting", and at www.wildcatlighting.com. Pictures and video are up of some of our customers boats.

Here is a pic of our lights installed under a splash rail of a center console, lights powered by a 12v deer feeder battery in the video only to prove the low draw on the battery.

I will not advertise on the photo/video section again, feel free to pm me or ask a question on this thread and I will happily reply to you. I hope I have answered everyones questions to date.

Brandon, Great visiting with you also. Buchanan will not be the same, the way those Hybrids have been growing there should be some great fishing at night for those footballs with fins along with the stripers, whites, and crappie. I love that lake. After you get the lights on make sure you send us a video of the baitfish and boat, a few of our customers are having too much fun and not sending us videos lol.

Thanks for the compliment David Lee.

B_Vandy, we actually have a design already submitted in the patent process for the yaks. Cant get into details of course but it is pretty wicked and beats the heck out of the durn flashlight bulbs that they are running on the yaks now. Until this patent is pending we can use the lights the same way as we install on the boats. Our new design will actually run off of triple A batteries, the lights draw so little amperage we can fire a 16' strip with a 9 volt battery (see video- http://www.youtube.com/user/2ndresponder), a small 12 volt deer feeder battery is perfect to run the lights in a yak. The deer feeder battery takes up very little room and will run two of our 39.5" light strips all night on a fully charged battery. Not sure how safe you feel at night with a flashlight battery keeping boats from running over you but these strips you will probably feel a little more comfortable. The lights will stay fired all night its up to you to stay awake the entire time lol.

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day!

thats sweet when you said a deer feeder battery my fist thought was that would be great for night fishing on a yak or even a 2 man bass boat... i don't have a yak but my friend does and putting it on a my 10ft man would make that a crappie fishing machine... thanks for the respond...

Wow, you deserve the attention Don your welcome. I absolutely love them. I took the boat to Matagorda two weeks ago and killed the trout at night under your lights Don. Wind pushed us off the second night.

ON another note Mac, a 34' Bertram owner from POC is headed your way to get some.

If you haven't been to their website lately you need to go read the article Don wrote explaining the technology and science behind these lights. Very informative to say the least. Bottom line from a laymans stand point all light isn't equal and different colors, with different frequencies, do a better job and these guys have figured it out. www.wildcatlightings.com

Going to schedule my boat in the next few weeks. Can't wait.

This afternoon Don and Ray made the trip down to Marble Falls and lit my boat up. Man it looks awesome. We weren't in the water but a few minutes and the baitfish started swarming. we went under the Hwy 281 bridge and it was awesome. Not only did the lights lite up the bridge the baitfish they attracted was impressive. Watching the baitfish on my Humminbird 898 start to gather was impressive. Bait fish from top to bottom. We only sat there a few minutes because Don had to get on the road but you could see the bigger fish moving in. Can not wait to get out and do some serious fishing with these things. In addition it is going to be so nice in not having to go search for shad in the morning, hell their going to be coming to me for a change. Now I just got to get better at throwing my net.

Overall I am more than satisfied not only with a great lighting system that is going to make catching bait and fishing easier but the service. Ray and Don know their stuff and the workmanship is tops. But what really impressed me is how they tolerated and even got silly with my little 5yr old angel. She probably summed it up best when she told me on the way home.." Daddy I made 2 new friends today. You know those guys who put on the lights. They are goobbers." And she broke into a silly laugh.

Don and Ray it was a pleasure meeting you and be sure to send me some business cards. I will hand them out to everybond and anybody that ask about my kick Arse lights.

THANKS

Brandon,

It was our pleasure. That is one beautiful new Century you have there. I have never seen a play acted out on a center console, tell the nice wolf that the goober and the bad wolf said hello. We have your video up on page 1 of the website, even got the nice wolf in the video. Click here- Video 24' Century C/C

Send us pics of the nightime stripers you drag in on Buchanan.

Will do Don. You were right get those away from any other lights in complete darkness and it is bright really bright. Don I had someone ask me how much amps they use and how long will they run on one main battery you probably told me but like any kid at Christmas I wasn't remembering the answer.

Brandon,
The set up that we installed on your boat will draw less that 2.5amps.

I have run a slightly smaller set (for a 17' Bass Tracker)for an entire night on a small deer feeder battery. Batteries like what I believe I saw in your boat should be able to run at least a full day before you have to be concerned.

As I would advise anyone, however, never run auxillery electronics on your primary engine battery unless you have failsafe options... even your radios... but there again...
thats just me.

I hope I answered your question...

Cannot get my baitfish video to load, need help. I wanted to share this, you wont believe the amount of shad. We ran out of bait and just castnetted from the boat for fresh bait...whenever we wanted. These are unreal Don, thanks again.

Members of the TFF - my deepest apologies for haveing to "wash my laundry" in a public place... however, I have really been given no other choice... but to make this "plea"...

Ray Austin, Please stop stealing from us at wildcat lighting...

" Topcat Marine Lighting System " is a trademark and creation of Wildcat Lighting.

You were paid to work for us and failed to meet certain expectations. That did not make it ok for you to steal technology and intellectual property from us.

You are no longer with us because your trust, workmanship and knowledge failed to meet our standards.

Even your facebook page is covered in material you stole from us...

You have taken so much now... when is it going to stop?

There are a few people that look to you to be an example... please stop teaching them that stealing is ok....

Are we going to have to file legal action against you for doing what you already know is wrong.... where does it stop?

Regarding bugs...

We have a system that actually repells bugs when worked in conjunction with the fishing lights. I no longer carry insect repellant in my boat... I don't need it at night. The lights for fishing keep the bugs down by the water feeding the fish while the anti-bug lights deter them from inside the boat.
