well, against my better judgement we went out this morning, hoping to find them again.Wind out of the south about 175 knots, not a chance in hades of staying on any structure,so we went to the timber across from Lloyd park and crappie fished,no luck just 2 green trash fish, one almost 17 in.long and the other about 12in.,the smaller one was still stuffed full of eggs...got her back in the water asap..not a bad morning though

I wanted to go out today but I guess I'll have to wait for the weekend and pray that it doesn't rain.

diverdown you and me both I have had a boat for the last 4-5 years now but I just bought my new one in October of last year and before that I was spending more time working on my boat than fishing. I am trying to learn all I can about this lake, that is why this blog is awesome to learn from others with different ideas and opinions on where and how to fish this lake. I have a few spots that have quickly gained my attention but I know that there are countless others that I am not even aware of yet.

The way to communicate with the fish is to drop them a line.
To argue on a fishing boat is to have de bait.

hit the lake today with mike allen from TFF, we had a pretty good day 4/30 we both caught 10-12 sandies each ranging from little dinks 6'' fish to some keeper size maybe 11'' or so. We caught all of our fish off of firemans hump, unfortunately no schooling action today but the water was dead calm and beautiful. all of our fish came on slabs and rooster tails off of the bottom our fish all came in between 5pm and about 7pm. We had a great time and Mike Allen is great guy and knowledgable fisherman to hit the water with anytime. Will try to hit the water tomorrow if not I will be out sunday or monday, good luck to you guys and hope this little bit of info helps out.

wow an 18'' sandie from JP would be awesome, I have caught up to about 14'' sandies out there but I don't doubt it. You wouldn't care to say what part of the lake those fellers came from would you?

The biggest sandbass that I have caught on jp was 14.5", and that's a big sandbass to me. If I'm not mistaken I think the lake record is 18".
