hasn't been too good under the bridges lately, hit and miss. Saw some big crappie come out of there last week, but it's been awhile before that one "isolated incident". Bass are busting out all over the lake and in the creek. They are still in a "pre spawn stage" and feeding voraciously. Spinners and fast moving baits are still hot, shallow running crank baits are also very good.

sounds good, probably start at the bridge and work my way back on the creek, before the net, then after it, just really started fishing the last few weeks, luckily I have friends that live on lake vilbig, which is private, so catching a few bass there has really got me going wild lately wanting to get out everyday possible, maybe i'll see you out there one day

I've fished bachman about a half dozen times. It can be a tough lake. there is tons of stuff to hang up on. Especially down by the bridge. That was pretty frustrating initially for me. BUT I have caught a few true hawgs out of bachman. Including one 7+. I think the lake certainly has potential. I've never been able to catch numbers there though.

I have been out there several times over the past few weeks throwing jigs, spinnerbaits, paddletail swimbaits, and have not caught anything but the bottom. I'll keep trying, though. I am afraid to throw cranks out there - I have snagged TX rigged worms at that place.

This morning, around 8'ish,I saw a couple putting in a nice sized john boat with both a gasoline motor and a trolling motor. If you are TFF'ers, would appreciate a report!

Any good carp recipes out there?

Also, what's all this carrying a .45 and kevlar vest stuff? Shady place?

You don't always need a boat..

Did you ever end up getting into carp fishing?

So havent been to bachman before. I have a nitro z19. I read that there is a 5hp limit on there. Question is, can i idle around not getting on plane? What kind of structure is there? Is it a hard or silted bottom? I wanna use my graphs to side scan some areas but don't have side scan or bottom scan on the front graph.

I know you cannot start up the big motor but can you still use a 19ft bass boat?

If you haven't been to Bachman you might wanna go check it out. It's nowhere near big enough to have bass boats out on it.

Ive never seen a bass boat out on the lake before. Only motorized boats ive seen are the ones following the rowers around. NOt really much structure in the lake other than a few rocks and some scattered trees, They recently came and pulled out a BUNCH of trees because the rowers complained. Upper half of the lake is super shallow with a muddy/silty bottom. BAck half of lake is a tad deeper with some rock/mud bottom combo. Don't think it gets much deeper than about 15 feet.
