Caught 6 today, fishing from 5pm to dark '30. 2 on 3/8 white tandem spinner bait, and 4 on Grande Bass rattlesnake in Trophy Hunter color. # fish came from lilly pads and 3 from the grass. All fish in less than 5ft of water. I believe the spawn is about over. Maybe a week or two before all fish will be in post spawn. Talked to a couple of guys at the ramp, They were catching their fish on flukes and buzz baits. I'll be going back in the morning.

Used to be much more grass and the shorelin reeds used to grow great and were much more widespread than the last two or three years. They (the Power Plant folks) began widespread seasonal spraying the equivelent of Round-Up weedkiller on the floating Hycianths up in the creeks. Not much left now except for the lily pads.

Earlier this week, there were still a few wishful males glued very shallow guarding what I suspect were their Spring beds that were still unused by a female. (reminds me of my own high school days) Most of the other bass beds have now been taken over by tilapia who rebuild and turn the small bass beds into huge ones.

I suspect Bass Colonel probably can answer your question better as I think this year I must have hit the lake mostly pre-spawn and post-spawn and missing the very delayed and very short peak this year.
