I have been fishing for many years.
With that said I have never been a (fill in the blank) fisherman.
I would go out and do basically the same thing as always, with a few differences, and catch what ever I could to bend the pole.
I would get lucky now and then but quite honestly I never really wanted to target a particular fish.
I went to Bardwell and camped out with the wife.
Did what I seem to always do.
Minnow's, Frozen shad, shrimp, I even had two live crawdads i had caught in my minnow trap and "store bought" vanilla carp dough bait---NOTHING!
Then I remembered the post on beginner Carp fishing by Starless Dragon.
I went and bought a bag of frozen corn and chummed an area not REALLY expecting any different results than the other tips I have taken with low results.
( My fault I know, but I'm just saying.)
I threaded two poles with corn and chunked it out.
And waited--and waited--and waited.
After about 30 minutes we had a pole bending!
Over the next 3 hours we caught and released 8 very nice carp, plus had two break offs at the bank.
My wife is hooked on carping now, THANK YOU Starless Dragon!
We had a great time, that was fun!
What happens at the lake stays at the lake. Unless I have my camera handy.
