Have you ever fished Loughridge? I live just down the street and was considering asking for permission to fish that lake.

Just looking at Google Earth, it appears to be someone's house...but that's just a guess. I know in another thread, a guy talks about riding his bike down the railroad tracks to fish it.

On the right side of your browser, scroll down and click on the place marker called "Railroad Track", you'll see what I'm talking about.

The lake is fairly untouched. There are many trails you can take to get there but on foot only and it IS private so fish it at your own risk. however if you do get the chance to fish it, it's some of the best fishing i've ever done. HUGE lunker largemouth that will slam a buzz bait all day. up to 6 pounds! also fairly good catfishing. I live in the area and am willing to take someone along to fish it with me.

ok I'm literally right around the corner from it... but it is very easily noticable on private land however this seems to say the lake is open to the public for fishing how can this be am I missing something on the map?

Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

I live within walking distance. Never fished it but rumors abound of large bass. The property was purchased by ft worth but is still closed as far as I know. Plans are to make it a park. Will be a canoe launch and a few hiking trails put in. They have to fix the dam so it may be a while still.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, he'll be gone every weekend.

Loughridge Lake is now a Texas Parks And Wildlife public park! Theres a nice dock on the main pond. The biggest problem with this little lake is that it has limited access around the perimeter to bank fish and its full of submerged hydrilla, moos and grass. I think the best way to fish it would be from a small boat or kayak.

I've tried to access this park and haven't been able to. Where is the dock? I'd love to put my Kayak in, but I don't see how without either a long walk or trespassing.

So, what's the story on this pond? I've heard it's now over fished, and over pressured. I've never scouted this pond now that it is public, but I am a little ways north on 287, so it's a hop, skip and a jump from me. Anybody fish it, or have intelligence on how productive/busy it is?
