Yesterday I went to the Lake Tyler barge (Fritz and Opal's Barge). It was my first time to ever fish for crappie from a barge. They had it brushed up very nicely. The barge itself sits in 20ft of water. I didn't catch a fish, but met some nice people and saw some nice fish being caught. I'm going to try and go back tomorrow. The water will be a little warmer anyway. Hope to see some of you out there!

Located at north end of Old #2 Park. Take Texas 64 east from Tyler. Turn south on FM 848, then east on CR 2127. Follow road to park.

Yesterday was my first time out there. I didn't catch anything, but I watched a lady catch 4 or 5. One of them was at least 2.5 pounds. I couldn't believe it.

Just got home from there. Had three on minnows, largest one 15.5", before dark several good fish were caught on the piers around the barge using white roadrunner.

Jason, did you see a lady on the backside of the barge in the corner. That's the friend I was telling you about. That is one fishing little lady.

Ya man! I talked to her for a good while! Super nice and can flat catch fish!

I have known her for about 35 yrs. Her and her husband are awesome. He doesn't even fish. She is the only babysitter my kids ever had, almost twenty yrs ago. She will catch fish when everybody else is catching nothing. Let me know next time you come this way and I will meet you down there.
