Just mounted my new 101 fortrex. Trashed my maxxum on a rock. Farm Burea had my check in my hand in 1 day, so many kuddos to Farm Burea. Looking forward to getting on the water tommorow to try it out. Anybody notice much of a difference between the maxxum and fortrex ?

100% difference, I thought the Maxxum was great....until....Fortrex!!! So quit, I like to fish fast and with a high speed, turning a trolling motor makes alot of noise, not with the Fortrex...you'll love it!

All the Fortrex strings come from MK at the wrong length. Shorten (knot) your string so the rubber protector is where it should be, not out past the rub point.

From my experience on the fourtrex, it is a great tm. the problem is when it starts making all kinds of noises. my partner had one that everytime that you let off of the power button, the motor would turn sideways and squeek while it did it. other noises as well. now this is one of the first year model and maybe MK has fixed some of those problems. that squeek will have you going bonkers by the end of the day.

Not sure about the squeak, but the motor turning can be fixed by a adjusting the cable tension on the foot pedal.

FYI, The fortrex is awesome. Quiet power is a good description. Looks great, the alum frame is super tough. I highly recommend.

that squeaking and torque is most liketl that allen nut needs to be tightened. If everything is tight. then it is quiet as any of them I love the motor but the mouns has already broken on the inside where it catches near the screw. that was a bad design and will havw mine in the shop soon to have that handled.
