I looked at both the Cabelas and Bass Pro sites, the Optronics style light has received terrible reviews both places, but I don't see any alternatives. I'm looking for underwater 12V light. Thanks.

I have the fishing seceret, paid about 200 bucks for it with the case, weight and all you need to use it. It was money well spent!! I highly recommend it.

But I have also found this one and I am thinking about buying one of their kits for the back of the pontoon and I could have two lights smile Look into to them, the ones at BPS and Cabelas are junk, dont waste your money becasue you will be upset about it.

Looks like they have different colored bulbs, I use the green one on my seceret and it works well, bait fish will come in like crazy.

Good luck sir

I would not hesitate to purchase that Green Monster for 189 when the time comes for me to get a new one, heck we been thinking about adding another anyway. Might have to look into getting one. Looks like a high quality light!

Rob Im sure your brinkman works but I dont think you realize the difference until you try one of these higher quality lights, it insane how much more light they put off and the attraction level is crazy. Heck you can pay for it quick too with the money you save in purchasing minnows if you use minnows at night (we do).

Later guys

I think there may be some confusion on what kind of lights we're discussing.
The $189 green monster light is a larger, sealed one piece unit that you wire to a 110v source andsink under a pier.
The $20 Brinkmann lights are the ones you clip on a battery and throw over the side of your boat for nightime crappie fishing....and they work well, we've used them the last few seasons.

We mfg the Crappi Candle fishing light here in Texas. This light attaches to the line and does what the other power zapping lights do,they attract fish. Our studies that were done for us showed you do not need to light up an acre of water to attract fish, they have keen eyesight and only a small light will draw fish to your bait. Not only is light used to start the bait balls but fish are naturally curious to light therefor will come check it out and most time stay in that area.

I put one of these on my parents dock and it has worked amazingly well.

Never tried one off the boat but if the green monster (which is similar to this unit) has a portable version i think that would work great.

I purchased my underwater light from http://greenglowdocklight.com We love it. Had two other styles in the past that didn't work out or last in the saltwater. Love this light. bought it last summer and its still as bright as the day I installed it. Give them a look at.

I build underwater lights. Here is a pic of one model I build.

Shoot me a PM for more info before you spend the money on one of the more expensive lights. My lights are quality built in every aspect utilizing a lens with up to 30% better light transmission than "clear" PVC which results in a light that is not only brighter than most any other you'll find, but is also tougher and resists clouding over time. My lights are more competitively priced than any comparable product you'll find, built to last for years, backed with a 2yr warranty and 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Standard 2' models in stock, and custom options available.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

Get one of these. This guy also makes smaller lights.
